You know your business stands for something…
…you’re just not sure how to say what you do.
You do a lot of things.
You’re a coach. You’re a mom. You’re a service professional. You cook. You clean. You whip your clients into shape, minus the whip.
You’re damn good at what you do.
How do you let the world about it?
You start with your clients.
Here’s how:
1. Get a piece of paper and write down what your clients ask you about.
2. Visualize one client that you enjoy working with.
Ask them what they need in that moment. Then ask them how you can help.Write it down.
3. Go about your day.
Keep the piece of paper with your answers beside you or in your pocket at all times. Whenever you notice a need that you can help with, write it down.
It doesn’t have to be every little need that comes up during the day like opening the door for a passing stranger. Just write down the ones that come up in conversation with your clients or potential clients.
4. When you’ve felt like you’ve gathered enough “data,” read back over the list and notice anything that you feel pulled toward.
If you don’t feel pulled toward anything, then close your eyes and meditate for a bit, clearing your mind.
What comes up in your awareness?
Usually the answer will pop up for you.
If you get nothing, do these again for a couple of days.
5. When you know what it is that people come to you for, write it in a sentence.
Begin with: “I help [your ideal client] to [do this] and achieve [this result].
Remember that your marketing message is going to evolve and change as you attract more clients that are on different levels. Go with what feels right for now.
If your marketing message nags at you next week, then try the steps again. Let it grow and become who you are on its own.
No forcing it.
You are constantly changing and your message will be also. Let your soul guide you to the right message that fits you.
